Tatty Mountbatty

Im lucky enough to be spending time with dear Tatty who yesterday proved to be the up and coming dressage champion. Tats is riding every day and hoping to compete in the Olympics I have my fingers crossed for her and every faith that one day her dream will come true. We have been reading a lot of the secret and Im totally into that, it's a gem having the courage to believe in positive thinking is such a good thing in life, if you envision yourself fulfilling your dreams offering up gratitude to the world than you are more than likely to succeed.

Tats and I have recently been spying up the INCREDIBLE Hermes saddlery, would it not just be the epitome of glamour to ride dressage with all that knock out formal clothing teamed with a beautiful leather Hermes saddle, gosh it would give Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn a run for their money. Urban, Tatty's beautiful horse would fit this look perfectly, he really is stunning.

Hermes are one of the greats. Thierry Hermès (photograph to the left)  first established Hermès as a harness workshop, on the Grands Boulevards quarter of Paris. He created the finest wrought harnesses and bridles for the carriage trade. Today Hermes is a group company run by Patrick Thomas who joined the company in 1989 and is the first non-Hermes to helm the company he took after Jean Louis Robert Frederic Dumas-Hermes who after 28 years of leadership stood down in 2006. Known for his charm, and exceeding leadership and taste of luxury he sadly died last year after a long illness.  Above are photographs of Artisans and their creations at the Heremes leather workshop in Pantin and Saddle master Laurent Goblet and one of his craftsmen flank their handi work.

A secret to many but Hermes has recently opened an iconic museum in Paris selecting there patterns (paying special attention of the scarf generation). It is not yet opened to the public, very few have been invited in by special invitation, particularly interior designers. But after researching I have discovered the location: Musée Hermès - 24, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Im hoping my invitation was lost in the post ;)
