Edie's Earring's

I adore Edie Sedgwick, she had something so unique and exciting. Her life was a little crazy but her beauty and style never seemed to fade. Andy Warhol and the whole 60's era really fascinates me, I read books visit exhibitions and pick up small glitches here and there trying to get a sense of everything that went on. This photograph by Burt Glinn, 1965 titled Andy Warhol in a manhole  of Andy, Edie and Chuck Wein (Edie's eligible boyfriend at the time) looks so free and captures their personality: Andy taking the lead being ever more creative, Edie behind flaunting her minute figure in the staple leggings and polo neck, Chuck shadowing edie......

I was in Topshop a few weeks ago and stumbled across these earrings. I had been looking for a pair similar and knew the idea hadn't just emerged from nowhere. Of course the above being one of my favorite photo's of all time, my memory quickly clicked. I was even more excited at comparing the 2 up close. Good old Topshop did do a descent job!

I wore them last night to a party, and people actually came up to me and said they really resembled style in the sixties. I was a super happy bunny :)
